The Face of Victory Has Persistence Written All Over It.
We conquer not in any brilliant fashion, we conquer by continuing. – George Matheson
Sometimes life can throw you a major league curve ball and sometimes it can even flatten you like an NFL line backer. Let’s face it; disappointments are an integral part of life. But what experience has taught me is that we overcome and are triumphant over life’s disappointments by moving forward. Nothing is ever gained from being stagnant. And there is no possible way to fulfill your God given destiny, if you give up.
Too often people sit on the sidelines of life waiting for the skies to open and for success to fall in their laps. And when it doesn’t happen, they are discouraged. Too often they find themselves sitting by admiring or even “hating” on the success of others. When all the while success was in their grasps too, they simply let go before they achieved it. Overcoming and conquering occurs day by day. The sweet taste of victory comes one small bite at a time. When you keep striving for the desires of your heart relentlessly, good things can happen. Hold no illusions that it will be easy because it isn’t. But we are all under contract with God to pursue our dreams and to work towards being the best that we can be, even when things are tough. True success is rarely, if ever, an overnight event. By the time great success is realized for all to see many disappointments have been conquered and roads filled with detours and potholes have already been traveled.
I truly would not be where I am today had I allowed the devastation of being fired from my first job after college destroy my ability to pick up and move on. And boy was I distraught! I had worked so hard and I so loved my job. To be fired unjustly, was absolutely devastating! However, after two months of wallowing in self pity, a gentle nudge from a friend to attend a job fair prompted me to dust myself off, join the land of the living once again and find another job. That next job launched me into a series of successes that would change my life forever. Imagine the journey and success that I would have missed had I not taken steps to move forward. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to live life passionately and abundantly! If you follow your heart’s desire, good things await you. Thomas Edison once said, “If we did all the things that we are capable of doing, we would literally astound our selves.
